Indy Temple Open House

Last week, we got to go to the Indianapolis temple open house.  The drive was too short to split up but a little long for Dax.  The last 15 minutes or so were a little rough.  The temple was beautiful though and I'm glad we got a chance to see it!

After the temple, we were planning on going to Tucano's.  Indianapolis is the closest one to us now.  We walked in and they were having a problem with their grill and weren't seating anyone for 3 hours!  We were slightly heartbroken since we hadn't eaten all day in preparation.

We did get in some swimming time at the hotel though - maybe a whole 2 minutes.  The water was freezing!

Should have brought the selfie stick - haha!

Brian always does this when changing Dax's clothes.  It makes him pretty mad but it is pretty dang funny!

Ready to go swimming in his new big boy swim suit from Aunt Heather.  If Brian says the water is cold, then it is freezing so it really ended up being about two minutes in the pool.

July Highlights

Here are some of our favorite  pics/memories from July -

This is the day after getting home from Cincinnati.  I think we wore him out a little bit.  He normally stays awake to play for about an hour after eating in the morning - this morning he only made it 10 minutes.  He just rolled over and went to sleep.

Sunday nap time - Brian is sleeping on the couch in the background.
Brian was supposed to put this kid down for a nap.  After a while when he didn't come back down, I went up and found them like this.

We found this awesome car at a yard sale!

Learning to roll over.

He found his toes and plays with them all the time now.

4 Months

4 months old!  Here are the 4 month stats -

Height - 27 inches (98%)
Weight - 17 lb 6 oz (84% and exactly double his birth weight)
Head Circumference - 17.5 inches (98%)

This kid FINALLY figured out eating and started putting on the pounds!!! He is still a little slow at eating but it's getting better.  At 4 months this kid started rolling from his back to his tummy.  Then he gets stuck and mad because he can't go back the other way. He plays with his toys more and always has to have something in his hands.  He has also found his toys and loves to play with them.  He is still a champ sleeper but his daytime naps have gotten a little bit shorter.

4th of July

Over the 4th of July weekend, we decided to take our first family mini-vacation.  We went down to Cincinnati for a few nights.  The first day we stopped at the outlets on our way down and did some shopping.  Our second day, we wen to the aquarium and a Red's game. It was really fun and Dax was so good about taking naps in his chair and sleeping at the hotel.

We rode this ferry across the river to Kentucky.

We wore this kid out!!!

Best part of any vacation is swimming at the hotel, right?  This was Dax's first swim.  He didn't love it, he didn't hate it.

So, say what you will about selfie sticks, but we actually got some good pics of all of us with one, which never happens.  Most of them you can't even tell Brian is holding a selfie stick.  Make your jokes, but I may be pro-selfie stick now.

We had to wait in line for over an hour to get into this aquarium and it was very hot.  Dax was not loving that part.  Once we got inside, he was pretty happy though.
