May Highlights

Here are some of our favorite moments from May -

Mother's Day - I tried to get one good picture of this goof ball but I couldn't get him to hold still or to smile for the picture.  These show his personality better anyway though.

Everyday when Dax hears the garage door open, he runs to door to meet Daddy. It just about the cutest thing ever!

Brian was getting ready for his High Adventure hike by taking Dax for lots of walks on his shoulders.

Dax took a tumble down the stairs and hit the baby gate at the bottom which gave him this perfect circle on his forehead.

This cute little stinker lately has been ripping holes in my couches. I'm up to 13 holes in my couch.  I have glued the pieces back on and painted a little bit of it to make it look somewhat presentable, but I'm not sure how to fix it long term.  Let's just hope this phase ends soon.

Dax loves to crawl over, through, into, onto everything lately.  His new favorite place to hang out is this cabinet.  He shuts himself inside with a toy or book and just hangs out.

Dad was in charge one Saturday morning and I came down to Dax and Daddy playing in a fort watching cartoons.

Dax insisted on eating dinner one day from a chair next to Daddy instead of his high chair.  He thinks he is so big.  I have a hard time believing how big he really is.

More TV time with Daddy.

Dax loves to help sweep lately. I hope he still likes helping clean when he is big enough to actually be helpful.

Selfies with Daddy!

Brian and I had a mutual activity where we played glow in the dark volleyball.  The leaders didn't play because we had so many youth so Brian and I did this instead.  The youth thought it was pretty awesome.

Brian went to the father and son campout to test out his new hammock before taking it on High Adventure.  It worked great and he is excited to take it for a week next month!

Brian's Birthday

Brian's birthday was on Memorial Day this year, so we had a extra long weekend to celebrate.  The Saturday before his birthday we got a sitter and went out for the whole day. We started at the movies where they serve food and had lunch while we watched the Captain America movie.  Then we went to the mall for a bit. Then we headed to the REAL game. The game didn't start until after 9 though because of some weather delays so we didn't get home until after midnight.  We had a lot of fun though!

Monday was Memorial Day and while we were at Olson's, we did some birthday candles on a sugar cookie cake and sang happy birthday!

The day after Brian's birthday was the start of the Memorial Tournament so he spent the rest of his birthday week at the golf course. On Thursday and Friday, he went with Dan but Dan went back to Utah on Friday, so on Saturday, I tagged along.  I got a little sunburned and Brian's phone said we walked 7 miles (not sure if that is really right though) but we had a lot of fun!

Memorial Day

For Memorial Day, we had a super long weekend because Brian had Friday and Monday off.  On Friday, we hit up some yard sales and the zoo.  On Monday, Brian went golfing with Dan in the morning and then we went to the pool for the first time this year.  Dax loved swimming with Daddy but hasn't been happy swimming without him since.  Mom just isn't as fun at the pool, I guess.  After the pool, we went to Olson's for a BBQ and some Bachelorette.

Lasik

For my birthday, Brian got me lasik which was so awesome! It felt a little like being abducted into an alien spaceship.  They take you into this big, white room with a huge laser gun.  You lay on this table and a bunch of people stand over you and start working on your eyes and then they count down and the laser goes on.  Then the table spins and they do the same thing on the other eye.  The whole thing took less than 5 minutes.  When you walk out, you can see! Everything is hazy, but you can see! We went home and I was supposed to take a 4 hour nap.  But as soon as the numbing drops wore off, my eyes were pretty painful and it was hard to sleep. After those first few hours though, my eyes felt great and at my follow up the next day, I was already seeing 20/20.

While I was getting lasik, Brian took Dax to a park to play and then played with him all weekend while my eyes were getting better! Best hubby/daddy ever!

April Highlights

Here are some of our highlights from April -

The weather finally got warmer and we spent lots of time at the park.  Dax LOVES to swing!

Dax also LOVES to watch TV with Daddy - for about 5 minutes.  Then he is on the next thing.  Unless you tickle his tummy - that buys you an extra 2 minutes.

Dax has really started hating being fed and insists on feeding himself.  He doesn't like if the pieces are too small either and even tries to put them back together before eating them.

Dax loves to be a helper while cleaning.  Not sure how much help he really is but it sure is cute.

We watched a friend's baby one day and Dax keep wanting to hold him - even though Royal is only 2 months younger than him.  Royal hated it but Dax was loving it.

Dax and Daddy having so much fun while Mommy was at TOFW.
