Ohio Christmas
We started our Christmas celebrations early at our house since we were going to Utah for actual Christmas. Our first Christmas activity was Zoo Lights. It was a very cold day that we decided to go on and Dax hated it. The sound wasn't working for the light show either so the night was kind of a bust.
Our next Christmas activity was a little more successful. Brian's work had a polar express pancake breakfast. It was Dax's first taste of pancakes and he loved them! I was a little nervous he would hate Santa but he loved him. He really liked how soft his suit and bear were and kept petting him.
Santa came early to our house. Dax got some clothes, books, and a few new toys. Mom got coloring books, puzzles, and new slippers. Dad got a new electric razor.

November Highlights
Here are some of our highlights from November.
Since it was weirdly warm this year, we made a trip to the zoo with Daddy one Saturday. Dax was super tired and snuggled with the back of Brian most of the time. Also, don't mind Brian's head injury - it was from basketball that morning.
I was a little early with the Christmas decorations but since we celebrate Christmas early before we go out to Utah, I felt justified. Dax loved the ornaments and the lights on the tree.
Dax stayed with his first sitter. Brian's friend from work, Rachael, watched him while Brian and I went to one of those mystery rooms with some friends. I had a bit of hard time but Dax did great and loved playing at Rachael's house.

8 Months
Dax is such a busy baby at 8 months. He crawls everywhere and has started to pull himself up to standing. He is learning lots of new tricks like kisses, noggins, and peek a boo. He has started understanding a few signs but hasn't started mimicking them yet. We just love our little happy baby!
Thanksgiving Trip
For Thanksgiving, we decided to take a trip to Nashville. On the way to Nashville, we stopped at Mammoth National Park and toured some caves. It was awesome! The tour was a little long for Dax. He also really liked the echo in the cave and yelled through most of the presentations. He is also SUPER heavy and it was not fun to wear him while crawling through the small crevices. But we made it through the whole thing and it was really cool.
On Day 2 in Nashville. we did some sightseeing and exploring. We started out at a park with a replica of the Parthenon. So crazy that we could walking around Thanksgiving weekend in just light jackets, btw. After that, we went downtown and walked across the river and downtown. We went to lunch at B.B. King's and listened to some live music which Dax really liked. Then we headed to the Gaylord Hotel to check out the Christmas decorations. After that, we headed to the drive-in! Dax slept in his car seat and we saw the new Hunger Games and James Bond movies. It was a long day but we had a lot of fun!
On our last day, we toured the Belle Meade Plantation. The big mansion was pretty awesome. Our tour also included a wine tasting, haha! We opted for some chocolates instead.
